Who we are
The Post-18 Project is published by Thesis House Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 08784934) with its registered office at Thesis House, 31-35 Kirby Street, London EC1N 8TE. Thesis House Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through post18.co.uk.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at project@post18.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
Mailing list. If you sign up for updates we ask for your email address, and optionally your name, job title and organisation. We use these to send you our newsletter and occasional updates about our work. Signing up is entirely optional, and every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and maintain a record of our exchange. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to and keeping track of correspondence.
Technical information. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses and requests made) for security and reliability. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.
Who processes your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the mailing list ? our website hosting providers, and Campaign Monitor, which delivers our newsletter. They process personal information only on our instructions. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires us to.
reCAPTCHA
Our sign-up form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps us distinguish people from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects technical information about your device and behaviour on the form, and its use is subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service.
Cookies and analytics
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not currently run analytics tracking on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
How long we keep things
We keep mailing-list details until you unsubscribe or we retire the list; correspondence for as long as it remains relevant; and server logs only briefly, on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal information ? including the right to ask for a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to withdraw consent where consent is our basis for using it. To exercise any of these, email project@post18.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time ? the date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
